OFFERED FOR SALE MY BRISTOL 400.
A hugely advanced car for it's time the Bristol 400 combined much of the engineering of the pre-war BMW car company and the mechanical expertise of the Bristol aeronautical company. eligible for many touring events including the prestigious Mille Miglia retrospective.
Originally sold by A. F. N in 1948 and then owned by Kevill –Davis of Berkley Square W. 1 London.
A huge history file accompanies the car.
In very nice restored condition the car has recent bills totaling over £15. 00. Fantastic original interior with a new set of carpets in finest Wilton carpet. new Michelin tyres (inc spare) on blasted and painted rims. mechanics and engine all overhauled. new wiring. new smiths heater. recently re-chromed . new windscreen . recently beautifully re-painted in metallic blue grey (bare metal).
A new M. O. T has just been issued until January 2015 with no advisorys.
Driving wonderfully this is a fantastic car that I am reluctant to sell but due to family pressures this highly original and nicely restored Bristol 400 is now available.

first let me introduce myself. I'm 67 years old, a retired engineer and own a MG TD from 1950 in good condition since 2015. It is not a daily driver but every year it runs about 5000 km. The most maintenance and repair I do on my own together with my son in law. I'd owned a Mercedes Benz 170 S from 1950 for 2 years but it was a car without spirit and so it was sold. I like old cars which are in good condition and I hate old cars better than new or with many improvements. The Bristol should be a supplement for longer distances with luggage and the goal is to give it into the hands of my youngest daughter if driving old cars will become too hard for me.
I have seen only one Bristol 400 here in Germany - but this one was nearly perfect in a museum. Because of that I never had the chance to drive a Bristol 400 or talk to an owner. So it is hard to compare. At the first look your Bristol looks adequate for such an old car. I miss the mahagoni tips of the strip set and the door handle. Is the color contemporary?
Please send more pictures from the dashboard, the engine compartment, the foot well and the headliner.
Please tell me what you know about the history and tell me about your relationship to the car. Are you a dealer or an enthusiast? Do you have a workshop?
Are you confident the car travels to Germany on its own axle?
What's about MoT, registration, insurence, maintenance, accidents,rust, known problems?
Please excuse my curiosity but I am very interested and I guess it is better to spent some time for the collection of informations than inspecting a car and both, the seller and the buyer, are frustrated after that.
I will be in GB at Tuesday the 5th of June - is it possible to see the car?
