The Bristol 411 was built from 1969 until 1976. It was the fifth
Bristol model to feature a Chrysler V 8 engine. however the 411
introduced a much larger 6277 cc V 8. It was more powerful than the
previous models and boasted a top speed of 143 mph. A limited slip
differential was fitted to cope with increased power. Over the
seven years it was produced there were a number of changes the
Series 2 came with self-levelling suspension and the Series 3
introduced a new design for the car with the four headlamp design.
A lower compression ratio was introduced too. For the Series 4. a
larger 6556 cc engine was used. The famous Avon Safety Wheels were
also made available. These had been successfully demonstrated on a
Bristol 411 by staging a blowout at 144 mph the tyre did not detach
from the rim. nor did the driver lose control of the car. The
Series 5 had some further design tweaks and introduced inertia reel
seat belts.
This beautiful 1975 Bristol 411 Series 4 is finished in black
over Tidal Sand Gold with a black Connolly hide interior and was
specified with the Avon Safety Wheels from new and is powered by
the 6556 cc Chrysler V 8 engine. It was first registered on 1 st March
1975 to The Bristol Tool Selection Company It is in excellent
condition and boasts a full service history. mainly from Bristol
Cars and Spencer Lane-Jones. The history folder itself is over two
inches thick and is also stored digitally on a CD. In 1991. the car
had a body-off restoration and full repaint which is all documented
with photos. Under the bonnet the engine has been around the clock
once. but was fully rebuilt at 110. 00. Our vendor bought the car
in 2009 and it had a full mechanical inspection by Spencer
Lane-Jones. Work completed included the cooling system which was
upgraded. the ignition system renewed. the front chassis cross
member was rebuilt and so was the rear suspension with Koni
adjustable shock absorbers. The brake servos were restored and a
new Edelbrock carburettor fitted. The car has a V 5 C registration
certificate and Mo T test certificate valid until May 2016. This
truly is an outstanding example of a British gentleman's motor car
and would make an excellent choice for any
connoisseur.
