SAAB Classic 900 Carlsson 1990

Unfortunately the day has come that I thought would never happen! I have decided that I am just not using the car enough to justify keeping it. I've only done 2000 miles in the past 2 years. I have literally taken it to couple of meetings/ shows each year and a few short trips around and about. The car has been started and driven at least every couple of weeks.  
I grew up as a kid in a house with several Saabs and always loved their individuality. After passing my test many years ago I bought a Saab as soon as I could afford it. The classic 900 was always for me the best looking car Saab ever made and after owning several 900s I always wanted the ultimate 900 - The Carlsson edition.  
I bought the car in April 2008 and it was my daily driver until about 2010 when I moved house and had a long commute. Over the last 6 years the car has been garaged and I have had the whole body kit and suspension off and engine out in order to check all areas of the body for rust. All rust was cut out. replaced with new metal. treated and mil-spec rust proof coating applied. So unlike a lot of Carlssons there is no rust hiding behind the body kit. The interior is in great condition for the age. I have always had seat covers on the fronts to protect them. there is a set of extra dials (boost. oil temp and oil pressure. ) These light up but need the connections checking because they don't read correctly. I was lucky enough to meet Eric Carlsson a couple of times and he kindly signed the driver's sun visor!
The not so good bits:It is not a show condition. spotless car (if it was I'd be looking for over £8000 for it!) There are bits of paint which need tidying (especially the bumper covers) anyone wanting to have it resprayed can do so knowing that included in the auction is a complete new set of carlsson decals!There is a small oil leak. its not enough to show when I check the oil level. I've not had it looked at so I'm not sure what's causing it.  The usual Saab headlining needs doing. The only rust which still needs doing are the door bottoms which are not terrible (see photos) I have a spare rust free drivers door bottom ready to do the repair but I've just never got round to it.  Electric aerial is not working.
If anyone is unaware The Saab 900 Carlsson was a special edition of the Classic 900 offered only in Great Britain. In general less than 200 of these dealer specials were created in each of the Red. Black and White available colours for model years 1990. 91 and 92.
ENGINEElectronic fuel injection Turbo charged. Intercooler. Saab APC system for continuous boost pressure control. Four valves per cylinder. Dome-shaped combustion chambers with centrally-located spark plugs. Double chain-driven overhead camshafts. Hydraulic. self- adjusting and service-free cam followers. Engine oil cooler.

When I bought the car 8 1/2 years ago I was told that the engine had been polished and ported. I have no evidence (paperwork) to show this but I had a 900 turbo fitted with the red box APC when I bought the Carlsson and the acceleration was much quicker than the standard car.

 185 bhp on a standard Carlsson.

Front and rear anti-roll bars. New coils complete bush kit and Bilstein shock absorbers fitted in 2011

Light alloy wheels. High speed. low-profile tyres.

Compact spare wheel and original tool kit in boot.

Wheel size 16" super aeros (originally the car came with 15" 3 spokes)

Included in the auction is a large new front mounted intercooler which has never been fitted or used.

Whale-tail spoiler. There is some wear on the tail (small 10p sized notch out of the rubber and the rubber has pulled away slightly from the main tail section)

900 Carlsson stripes. (Included in the auction will be an ultra rare complete set of replacement stripe decals)

Power-assisted steering.

Sports Suspension.

Front and rear airflow spoilers.

Headlamp wash/wipers. (I have removed these but still have them and they'll be included in the auction)

Electrically operated windows. (Passenger window has stopped working.  Probably because I've never used it in the past 8 years!)
