BMW 2000

BMW 2000 - this is the car of the German company BMW. Produced from 1966 to 1972-th year. Body type - four-door sedan. Belongs to a large family of BMW New Class.

In compact cars BMW 2000 was installed M10 four-cylinder engine with a volume of 2 liters. Capacity was 100 horsepower (74 kW). Sedan developed the speed of 168 km/h. This is sort of an updated version of the 1800. Standard sedan from the series В«the New classВ» had unusual rectangular headlights and large rear lights, but on the American market, according to local laws, were delivered to the machine by the round headlights. The BMW 2000 was installed a kind of grating consisting of four separate sections, which was later used on other BMW models. The first cars of the series BMW 2000 were equipped with independent suspension on all wheels, front disc brakes.

On the basis of BMW 2000 issued more powerful and successful versions 2000, TI and 2000 TIi - the last of which was the first model of BMW with mechanical fuel injection system. All were sold 1 922 car model modification 2000tii.

In total till the end of 1972 there were sold 143 363 car BMW 2000.
