1971 Morris Minor Traveller. Firstly let me say the pictures really do show the car in a very good light. however there are areas of bodywork showing the dreaded signs of age and the start of some rust. all i might add completely repairable given the time etc to do so. This traveller is far from a standard vehicle and benefits from many upgrades. hopefully I can remember all of them and list accordingly. Engine replaced some 8500 miles ago with a refurbished and slightly enhanced MG Midget 1275cc unit. (I have the receipt for the work carried out by Scholar Engineering totalling £1810. 93) The work undertaken consisted of an unleaded conversion . ylinder head porting. reprofiling of camshaft to 'fast road' spec light honeing of cylinders and new piston rings. Engine balance on completion. I consider this engine not yet 'run in' and fully expect it it improve as time goes by. Sticking with the engine a waterheated inlet manifold supports an HIF 44 Carb breathing through a matched K&N Filter. Exhaust is via a four branch manifold to a 'big bore' system. Ignition is via a '123' electronic distributor for which i hold the instructions . Water cooling is enhanced by the addition of a 'Kenlowe' themostatically controlled radiator fan which provides rapid winter warm up and a small increase in engine power. Braking is provided with a servo assisted system utilising 'Sierra' vented disc brake conversion on front wheels and EBC brake shoes at the rear a remote brake fluid reservoir is fitted under the bonnet. Steering has been made more positive with the addition of an anti-roll bar to the front. Clutch has been converted to hydraulic operation and again the reservoir for this is under the bonnet. A Five speed Ford gearbox is also fitted. Suspension benefits from the addition of telescopic shock absorbers. Instrumentation is aided by the addition of both temperature and oil pressure gauges. Windscreen wipers are 'two speed' Indicators/headlamp flasher. dip/main beam. horn are all on one stalk on steering column all housed within a custom made cowling. The interior with the exception of carpets was completely renewed from headlinings through seat covers and internals to door and other panel cards approx 4 yrs ago. The indicators are led lamps supported by an electronic flasher unit A Tow Bar complete with ball and electrics is also fitted. Reversing lights ( automatic) fitted. Rear Fog lamp also fitted. A Sony Radio/CD player is also fitted. The car has just been MOT'd and has just over twelve months to expiry (18th April 2015) and has a tax disc until end March 2015. MOT has 2 advisories one being some wear on front suspension lower bushes and the other some signs of corrosion around a rear spring hanger. I have been as honest as I can with the description please come and see for yourself before bidding. Payment via bank transfer prior to collection please. and within 24hrs of offer being accepted . No Paypal.
