1971 Morris Minor Traveller in Exceptional ConditionAs one of the latest Morris Minor Travellers to leave the Adderley Park production line in April 1971, YBF 173J in Bermuda Blue with navy interior was supplied by Morris Distributors, Atkeys Garage in Uttoxeter Staffordshire to a Mrs C L Layton on 5th April 1971.'Bluebell' as the Morris Minor Traveller was christened, was a common sight in Uttoxeter in the 1970's as she also acted as a delivery vehicle for the flowers from Mrs Layton's flower shop !Now, more than 50 years later, the Traveller is still in excellent condition, as good if not better than when it left the production line, due to the care and maintenance by subsequent owners. The Traveller is rare in that it retains the original 'Passport to Service' book supplied with all new BMC cars in that era.All four wings have been replaced, but due to the frequent use of Waxoyle over the years, there has been virtually no welding, as can be seen by the lack of MOT advisories or failures. Mechanically, the Traveller runs very well with no squeaks or rattles, with good oil pressure and a quiet, tight gearbox with no sign of synchromesh wear. The car has just been fully serviced. The cylinder head is unleaded, an alternator replaces the dynamo and halogen headlights with period Lucas driving lights make the Traveller a pleasant drive at night. The brake shoes and cylinders have all been replaced and the brakes are excellent (for a Morris Minor)The Bermuda Blue bodywork was bare metal repainted about 10 years ago with all panels off / glass out and is in excellent condition. The ash frame is original and has just been professionally taken back to bare wood and 7 coats of breathable acrylic sealer applied. The current MOT with no advisories runs to the end of July 2022 and will be replaced with 12 months MOT for the new owner.Delivery to all mainland UK postcodes is offered and assistance with overseas shipping by delivery to UK sea ports and LHD conversion as required.Further specific images and a 'walk round' video is available on request.
