Original 1966 VW Volkswagen Bug All Stock and Runs Amazing!! New Interior!!
Here we have for sale a beautiful barn find 1966 Volkswagen VW Bug. This is such an amazing bug. Just look at the rubbed through Sea Blue paint! How cool is that original patina that only time can create. The paint is rubbed through in the coolest places all over the bug. That is something that is very popular in todays VW scene. The body and all sheet metal are so nice. and have never seen in an accident. This is a pretty special 66'! These are very cool and unique with special one year only parts. The bug original was bought in Southern California. I have the original VW maintenance booklet that comes with the car. The fenders are some of the sturdiest and solid original German fenders I have seen. You could almost stand on the fenders. they are so stout! There is a just a few little dings around the body. Nothing major at all. The car still has all of its original body moulding and emblems! I had a professional window installation company in Reno install brand new window rubber. They installed the original stainless trim around the windows too. The way its is supposed to be! I had a brand new front windshield installed on the car. In fact. the whole are has brand new rubber on it. windows. wing windows. window scrappers. door weather stripping. tail light rubber. license plate rubber. front turn signal rubber. front hood weather stripping and rear engine lid seal. The car has all of its matching year specific 1966 two toned painted original wheels. I had brand new radial tires mounted and balanced on the wheels so you are good to go there. The previous owner went through the brakes and tie rods it appears. They bug stops on a dime! The bug also has the original VW German front and rear bumpers. They are stamped and the front still has the original front bumper stiffener on the back. The original Sea Blue color looks to have been re-painted just once in its lifetime. The interior and engine and front trunk is original paint. The front trunk is all original with the original trunk liner. The front spare tire area is nice with original Sea Blue nicely visible. The original Sea Blue sticker is still intact on the car. The original jack is still in the car too! The engine is the original 1966 1300cc motor that is correct for the car. The number stamp is correct for a 1966 1300cc engine. The engine was just tuned up by our local mechanic and it runs great! I installed a new Bosch style distributor but I still have the original Bosch vacuum advance distributor that I will include in the sale. The car was upgraded to 12v so rarely the starter wont engage on the ring gear. The interior was all redone by professionals. The seat were covered by a professional auto upholster and they also professionally fitted the brand new headliner in the car. There are brand new door panels and carpet throughout the entire bug. I installed an original styler rubber floor mat just like it would of original came with. The car has the original Sapphire radio in the dash but is not hooked up. The original glove box is still nicely intact in the car. They is no rust through on the body or any of the fenders. However. there are a few little pin holes behind the drivers seat. The floor is solid as a rock though so no issue there. otherwise the pan is nice! No rust in the battery tray. All of the electrical works! The turn signal indicator is sticky and might need to be replaced because it does not always work. The original steering wheel is nice but has some cracks in it. The horn ring is nice and not broken or repaired. The heater works great and same with the emergency brake. This is such a cool little survivor bug! The bug looks killer with the patina paint but has the nice feel of a new interior on the inside. The bug runs and stops great and I have driven the bug many miles. This is one of the nicest steering bugs I have ever driven. The car is a nice example of a stock bug. It is not perfect but is something that shows great and is a blast to drive! The paint is killer. once again! I can not get enough of it. People try and recreate that look on their bugs now but why not just get the true natural worn through paint. Please ask any and all questions that you might have before bidding on the bug. I have a California title that matches the original Black and Yellow California license plate. I can store the bug while shipping arrangement are being made. It can drive right up on a trailer. I will help the shipping company load the bug if needed. Please call me at 775-830-6760. Thanks for looking!!
