1985 Mercedes 307D Firetruck/Sprinter/Van for sale

Up for auction is one of my 1985 Mercedes 307 D Firetrucks Vin # WDB 1464. (Ebay will not recognize VIN so I had to put in wrong year. ) I purchased two almost identical vehicles direct from the Fire Department in Werl. Germany. These are also known as type 602's. They are the predecessor to the Sprinter. These trucks are still used by almost every european fire department as their people. pump. and equipment haulers. They are extremely reliable and their longevity is legendary. I had the trucks shipped to Virginia where they are titled. The one for sale is located in Lynchburg. Virginia. The other one. I just drove 3000 miles across the country to California through ice. rain. snow. and subzero temperatures with out a hiccup. They have a 5 speed manual transmission and cruise at around 120 km (about 75 mph). Top speed is about 85 mph. It's just right for the flow of traffic. I'm going to build mine out as a camping and recreational vehicle. I'm 6'2 and can move around with my head bent. My whole family camped all over europe in exactly the same type of van and had a blast. With the double sliding doors and the rear rollup door. they really are the ultimate recreation vehicle. But they are not for everyone. You can not compare them to a brand new Sprinter. They are lauder. slower. and don't have any of the creature comforts. But every single time I get in mine. it puts a big smile on my face. And I absolutely love driving it. Oh. yeah. the lights and siren still works. PS: The exterior pictures were taken when I picked the truck up at the fire department in Germany. The pictures in the warehouse is were the truck is located now. They are not so good because of bad light. Notice I taped up the lights.
