1962 Mercedes-Benz Bus 0319 for sale

This 1962 Mercedes 0319 Twenty-two (yes. 22)  window bus is an absolute head turner.  Many at first mistaken it for a Volkswagen micro bus. then slowly realize that it's about 1/3 larger than the VW.  Much rarer than the Volkswagen bus.  This 0319 is the ancestor of the modern Sprinter 0319 from Mercedes / Freightliner / Dodge family.  This bus has a good solid California body and is currently powered by a GM inline six cylinder engine coupled to a 4 speed manual transmission. The original 1. 8 liter 4 cylinder engine must have been inadequate with it's original 55 hp. thus explaining why it was replaced.   It is rear wheel drive.  It would be an ideal candidate for a modern Sprinter diesel 3 liter turbo retrofit.  It shows 78805 miles on the odometer. This bus has one door for the driver and two doors on the passenger side. one for the front seat. the other for everyone in the back.  It has a ladder to access the luggage rack on top for all of your supplies that you would ever want to haul for camping. The German 0319 Bus club have many parts available. as well as several other sources.   Including the metal print sign and some models of the bus as well.
Driving this Mercedes bus elicits more thumbs up / smiles and bewildered looks than anything else I have ever owned.  Would be a great candidate for a sight seeing bus or restaurant / sports event shuttle. extra large family hauler or just a fun vehicle to ride around in with if you have a lot of friends.
