VW T 2 1969 Early bay (1600 cc) :
Tax exempt. re-con engine. heavy duty clutch. custom oil cooler/filter with dash mounted temp gauge (crank case tapped). Solex Carb. original metal engine lid in matt black (if you don't like the Perspex one showing the chromey bling bits). great exhaust but no heat exchangers – j-tubes only. brakes relined. New front beam with adjusters. undersealed. new(ish) outriggers. solid floor. new(ish) ball joints. smooth front grille. modified stance (but not lowered). Radar alloys on good tyres. Phillips head unit with mega amp (bolted to floor under rear bench). Porsche replica black leather front seats. good headlining. alpine roof (Perspex – bit scratched). Trick buttons (electric) dash mounted - washer fluid and rear tailgate release. door locks need some attention (just fiddling really). good/new window rubbers. Recent blow-over (not quite a full respray) in Matt Black with gloss Silver roof. good chrome bits which polish up nice.
Original ‘Doormobile' interior is long gone and replaced with Di Y mdf “L” shaped bench which folds out to create a flat area big enough to sleep on (with some rearranging of the red bench cushions). full set of new thermal window mats. This would be an easy project to re-instate something patina or modern in the back…. or just leave it and relax. Some spare bits + SCAT-shifter gearstick + window rubbers.
