OPEL KADETT C COUPE GTE

Welcome to the auction of this very rare sports coupe. What you see in the photo's is the result of an intensive rebuild /restoration that has been carried out to a high professional standard. This is the second GTE I have created over the years it is finished in the correct original colours and think it is indistinguishable from a factory produced example apart from being RHD . I dislike the words Replica and Evocation As far as I am concerned this is a Kadett GTE carefully assembled by myself an Opel enthusiast and restorer for 40 years . t not only looks the part but in my opinion drives better. smoother . Quiter and more user friendly with the Gertag 5 speed gearbox. And yes I have driven Factory produced examples ! . Only a handfull were ever rhd these were converted by Tony Fall Developements in the 70's. So a very rare car in this form.

I acquired this car as a wonderfully solid rolling shell that started life as a 1200 cc coupe around the time the yellow and black car pictured was completed. he donor car for the engine gearbox and brakes was a 60000 mile 86 Manta GTE and was informed that a 2. 2 cylinder head has been fitted to improve performance . new clutch . the axle/diff from a A series Manta 1. 9 SR and is tight and quiet. rear drums and linings are new as are discs and pads with all new brake and fuel lines. suspension . full instrumentation . front and rear spoilers. TE anti roll bars were sourced in Germany . Super classic ATS alloys are fitted and shod with Bridgstone tyres.

The car has desirable upgrades. a sporty black headlining . Period sports seats in black leather. I also opted to use Chevette door cards as they are full depth of the door and have great door pockets . an excellent 4 speaker radio cd is fitted . the car passed its MOT with no advisories only complimentory comments. An engineers report was also written at the same time. So a stunning rare car that is ready to use and enjoy. and will be very popular at the VBOC show at Billing this year. people take photographs of it when ever I take it out.
