TRIUMPH STAG 3.0L V8 MK2 1974

Owned since 1997. he stag came to me as a non runner with head gaskets u/s. t was taken to a stag specialist who conducted a complete engine rebuild including. xtra thick gaskets. nleaded valves. uper gill rad. iming chains. uel pump also lumenition. aterpump etc etc. he final bill was itemised and a total of £4. 98. 6p was spent. have all the receipts. his work was carried out over 4 weeks 17. 10. 97. he mileage was then 65896.

The stag was then sprayed regency red and I enjoyed many trouble free summers in her. It has been in my garage for 5 years on a sorn. he last mot ran out august 2008. his vehicle has been serviced on a  regular basis. il. ilters. oolant. arb tuning by a stag mechanic with 30 years experience and the engine runs lovely as it should do. owever some parts of the body are now showing its age with bubbling starting to appear so its time for it to go to someone who is competent at carrying out the work required. ts basically a very good engine with a good shell that needs attention. his is by no means a basket case. The mechanic has given it the once over and has noted the following:

Drivers side outrigger needs replacing. mall hole in the n/s inner wing wheel arch. uto gearbox sump gasket leaking. rakes need rebuilding. il cooler mount need replacing. rivers side front caliper bolt sheared off. here are probably other issues as well but I have been as honest as I can with the description and photos. the chrome is all present. ome good. ome pitted. one rusty. he interior is good apart from a small hole in rear seat and split in tonneau which has been patched. the hard top is from another vehicle. s racing green. s in very good condition. ith all the chrome present but will need a new front seal. there is no soft top/frame with this vehicle. The boot lid was new from rimmers before the respray and although there was some surface rust on lip. his is solid. urrent mileage is now 78254. ome 13000 miles in 17 years of ownership!

The boot has boards but some carpets are missing. hese may be in my garage. f found I will fit them. ork carried out in the last few years have been new springs and smiths pressure gauge fitted. his was with the intention of getting her back on the road. ut have another project now and cant afford them both. his will make an excellent winter project for someone who has the time and space with minimal mechanical effort needed.
