Manufactured in 1953 in black. with a pre-select gearbox. this beauty was originally owned by General Sir Bruce White (who was responsible for the design of the Mulberry Harbours used on D-Day). On his death. she lay dry stored for a number of years until his estate was disposed of. when she was bought and run for a short time by an art-dealer in Edinburgh.
She was then bought by a member of the Armstrong Siddeley club. when her original number plate was sold. She was then bought and re-registered by the previous owner and was subject to a 7 year ground-up restoration which was completed in 2004. This provenance serves to explain the exceedingly low mileage of just under 18000 miles.
A photographic history of the restoration and all original bills will be included in the sale. as well as both the owners manual and workshop manual. together with newspaper articles and a video copy of the Channel 4 documentary 'Revealing Secrets' about her history.
She was bought her in 2006. for use as a wedding car and to display in car shows. I recently fitted an electronic ignition and the car runs and drives beautifully. The only minor blemish is that the front bumper now requires re-chroming. as it is beginning to flake in spots.
All panels on the car are original. as is the engine - all in all a stunning and rare example of a forgotten British manufacturer. She is perfect for use as a wedding car. as her colours of Claret over Old English White are absolutely beautiful and complement any bridal gown. A change in personal circumstance forces her sale.
