Current customer rating:
1948 Willys Jeepster Convertible
This 1948 Willys Jeepster is a sweet little ride. I reserve the right to sell this car locally.
Motor:
The motor is a 305 Cheverolet Iroc. 305 High Intake. The motor had 17000 miles on it when it was purchased for this car. We have driven the car 6. 93. 6 miles since the restoration around 2002. Elderbrock High Rise Intake.
Transmissiom:
350 Turbo Transmission. Automatic on Column
Other:
Aluminum radiator. Stainless steel gas tank. Elderbrock carberator. air cleaner and valve covers. 17 inch Elderbrock wheels (5) and BF Goodrich low profile tires. painless wiring harness. tilt wheel. vented heat and air system. dash cover was made in Tenn. and is belit aluminum. front seats are out of a Saturn and back seat was custom made and is a bench seat. New top. side curtains and tommy cover were made in 2002.
The body was removed from the frame and the frame was sand blasted and prepped and taken to a race car shop in Charlotte NC where a 1974 Mustang front end was put under the car. The car was also taken to Florence SC where the inside of the main body and underneath were rhinoed.
Interior:
The interior is upholstered in tan and has tan carpet.
Miscellaneous:
Has a JVC Stereo with cassette player and CD. Also has a CB. The steps on the rear fenders were rechromed in California in 2002.
The bumpers came off another Willys and had been rechromed prior to purchase. Has a cut off switch and has no exterior door handles.
The transmission indicator needs adjusting and there is some peeling paint on the front of the dash. A small cigarette burn is in the carpet behind the driver's seat. This is minor.
This Willys was a work in progress. It was completed in 2002 and has been kept in a closed in garage since completion. We have entered this car in several car shows and usually walked away with a trophy. We have also driven for pleasure on the weekends and have really enjoyed it.
