1983 FORD ESCORT MK 3 RS 1600 i SUNBURST RED "CUSTOM MODEL" (electric windows and sunroof)

First Registered 17. 8. 1983 (A REG). a genuine RS 1600 i & showing "ESCORT RS 1600 i" on the V 5. with all the Special RS spoilers and parts still intact. all bronze tint glass too.

Up for sale as I just dont use it enough. I've only done a few hundred miles each year and not even used it last year. it's just sat in the garage under a cover on a trickle charger. so I think its time to let it go.

it's a good one. in great condition and a nice clean 30 year old car with honest wear'n'tear all round. Battery tray and Fuse Box are solid with only a couple of 20 p sized bubbles under the paint on the rear valance and a bit at the bottom of the drivers door. Small enough to not really be noticeable. otherwise its really solid.

It's just had a Full Cambelt service. with all filters. oil. coolant. fanbelt. a new Alternator and Brake discs+pads+fluid.
It had a new genuine Motorcraft clutch last year and has KUMHO Ecsta supra tyres all round with 5+ mm of tread and the spare is good and still has the original jack and wrench.

87 k Miles with loads of old MOT's to prove the mileage and old Tax discs and invoices

Rather amazingly it is completely standard and not modified in any way. although running the popular upgrade to a standard ford dissy (All the RS 1600 i unique ECU & wiring is there and the coils are included and a spare genuine motorcraft oil filter also)

The interior is clean and in tidy condition. it's had a repair to the drivers bolster so no big rips etc as usual on these. there is some cracking to the dash top.

It flew through the MOT this week only needing a new rear Wheel bearing which the garage replaced. so its got a full 12 Months MOT. It's insured so I can tax it at the buyers expense to ease collection.

It's already for summer and a new owner to cherish.

These are the rarest of MK 3 escorts. and are the most likely to be more collectable than RS Turbo's and XR 3's as they were made in very limited numbers and are unique. so a good investment and it should never go down in value.
