1969 Karman Ghia LHD California Import for sale
Current customer rating:
I am reluctantly selling my 1969 Karman. I am reducing the toy collection in exchange for a planned grown-up investment in a house. Dismal I know but hey.
Just MOT'd and serviced. I don't fiddle with cars myself. it has been professionally taken care of all the time I have had it. I have service records dating back to the pre-delivery inspection in Dec 1969 and certainly have a comprehensive service record that covers all the things done since I purchased it and much that happened before.
It is a Californian import.
I purchased it
from a really nice Vee Dub family up in Fife
with the confidence of a professional classic car inspection report . I welcome the same scrutiny from any potential buyer.
The car has a standard 1500 motor (for Karman heads. yes it would have been manufactured with a 1200) which is very reliable. It has never missed a beat for me. I use the car weekly. It has a fancy hidden sound system that plays MP 3 s but that is the only modern touch to the car which is otherwise all original.
It is in what I would describe as good original condition it is a classic car that has been used all its life and taken great care of. It has age related signs of use but hey if you wanted a new car you would not be reading this listing.
The number plate you see here will be staying. it has an age related G plate on hold starting with the letters SRY.
I am not a dealer. I own this another VW and am an enthusiast for the brand. I am aware of the range of values of Karman Ghias and being an informed seller. there is a sensible reserve built-in to the auction below which I will not sell. Simples.
The thing to do is come and see the car. the file and drive in it.
Karmans were hand made and a combination of Italian design and German coach-building and VW mechanicals (I am beginning to think i should keep it!). Take a look at
wikipedia. org/wiki/Volkswagen_Karmann_Ghia
The car in the Wiki page is mine! There are about 700 left in the UK and that goes down by about 50 a year as the Germans buy them back from us Brits. who bought them from Californian VW deals who bought them from Osnabrück. Germany.
Cash would be nice.
Pitch me whatever questions you like so long as you are serious buyer.
Good bidding!
Pete
