Welcome to the Relisting (Due to an old man who thought bidding was subject to viewing) of This Beautiful 1961 Volkswagen Karmann Cabriolet Beetle.
This is a Rare Right Hand Drive Vehicle.

This vehicle underwent a restoration over 10 years ago but never got finished. I took on the project and finally put it on the road last week for the first time since 2002 (the last time it was taxed) At that time it had fresh paint. new floor pans. an engine rebuild and the hood frame was powder coated.
The car has only just had a full service. Brand new Hood. Brand new Carpets and brand new seals fitted and a fresh MOT.

The car comes with a certificate of birth from Volkswagen giving its build date and specification at build.
The car was built in 1961 and was exported to Australia. in 1968 the car was brought back to the UK and underwent an updating of some parts to make the car look like a 1968 model. I can only assume that they wanted the car to look brand new. The car has some 1968 parts still on it.
About This Car:
Bodywork:Fresh solid black paintwork in excellent condition with chrome trim in good condition. Waxoiled underneath to protect from British weather. New floorpans. Marks on rear decklid from removal of 1968 badge.
Interior:Original seats in excellent condition. New door cards. New carpets. fresh black paint on dashboard. Some 1968 parts.
Hood:Brand new Mohair (Sonnenland) TMI hood with new wooden bows for hood. professionally fitted with powder coated metal frame. Post 1964 rear window.
Engine:Freshly rebuilt 1200cc engine. alternator conversion.
Wiring:12v Conversion with new fuse box.
Brakes:Freshly rebuilt and serviced brake system.
Steering:Freshly serviced and lubricated. and is the later 4 stud.
Wheels:Good tyres. fresh chrome trim.










Why the car is relisted:

To allay any concerns about the buyer not wanting the car. within 5 minutes of arriving he asked if the engine number matched I said no and he said I don't want it. We all know that with these cars to find a matching block and chassis is rare. She would be worth a lot more with. but she has an excellent rebuilt engine. that starts first time every time.
