Ford Escort MK1 1300E

On offer here is my 1300 E Escort. which has only had 3 previous owners. My car was built in February 1973 and registered on 28 th March of that year. making it one of the very first cars produced - and one of the oldest surviving cars. The very first few of these cars were 'finished off' at Aveley - hence the 'Special Campaign' & 'Sport' chassis plate. Over the past few years the car has received the following new front wings. front panel. rear arches. inner & outer sills & new front floor pans. A small repair to each door pillar and strut top repair panels have also been let in. The rear wells are unwelded and both are in excellent condition as is the rest of the underside. The car has also received a 2 K respray inside & out / under bonnet & inside the boot - all windows & fittings were removed prior to painting. The paintwork & bodywork are in very good condition and all the panels are nice & straight - there is no rust. Both doors shut nice & easy. and don't drop. Also. all the panel gaps are good. The interior is also in very good condition - there is a very small nick on the drivers seat and the rear seat is very slightly thread bare at the top (but hardly noticeable). and the front kick panels are slightly worn at the base. The original deep pile carpet remains and is in very good condition - considering the car is now 40 years old. The headlining is also in very good condition. With the exception of some minimal pitting to the rear bumper. the chrome & brightwork is very good. All mechanicals including engine & gearbox are excellent. quiet and operate smoothly. Although not concours and opinions vary. i would describe the vehicle as in very good/excellent condition. The car looks stunning and is a delight to drive. Everything works & functions as it should. As you can see. the car is as it should be. has not been modified & is very standard. The original dealer sticker remains in the rear window. along with the original key ring fob. 2 sets of keys and the original number plates. The car has Mo T till August 24 th and is taxed to December 2013. As from April 2014 this car will be tax exempt - so new owner will only have to pay one more time to tax the vehicle.
