1967 Volvo 122s

i had 6 122's including a concours winner and this was always my favorite. i've unloaded all my collectables (almost) but i couldnt bear to sell this one. i'm neglecting it now and it needs a new steward. this one has some stuff i've never seen before. it has factory air conditioning and a show room sticker still in the rear window. i never bothered to replace the hoses and get it working but the compressor turns free and the fan motor works. there are a number of volvo accessories including roof rack. head lamp cowls. fog lights and wire covers and a vinyl spare tire cover. it has factory seat covers that are perfect. the horsehair guts of the seat bottoms themselves are shot and could stand rebuilding. the engine is very strong. does not smoke or leak and has a new head gasket and a new radiator. i have never had a problem of any kind with the su's. if you know how to operate a choke you can start this car anytime anywhere and drive it away. if you dont. you'll struggle.

the tranny and rear end are tight and the electric overdrive works perfectly.

i've done the brakes completely including wheel cylinders and drums. master and slave cylinder and booster. the clutch and slave are new.

the engine compartment is clean and correct. the winshield washer actually works. the battery box is sound with surface rust only on the bottom. there are a couple of cracks in the dash cover but it still shines up well. the interior looks fabulous. the original shoulder harnesses are frayed a bit but totally serviceable. the dash is all there including knobs and cigaret lighter. the radio makes noise but doesnt play. the owner i bought it from had added a fancy radio under the dash and some speakers in the back which i removed. the side door pockets are sagged of course. but the door panels themselves are really nice.

the carpet lis faded but good. it appears to have been covered always by some plastic mats. some of the firewall insulation has fallen out over the years and i have just tucked it back or cut it off. the tires are correct and good. the car runs out beautifully. it tops out about 70 and likes 45-50 best. it doesnt shimmy and stops straight and true. it shifts out like a dream.

if youre hankering for a ground up project. this is the best starting point you will find. if you just want an all original stunner to drive without reservation. this is it. i never intended not to own this car and it's hard to believe i'm actually selling it now. it's just too damn nice to neglect. call with questions. jimbo. 859. 621. 6630
