Rare 1956 AUSTIN FX3 D London Taxi Cab Restoration not Beardmore for sale

Rare example of a 1956 Austin FX 3 D Metropolitan London Taxi cab. powered by the BMC 2. 2 cc diesel engine. Manual gearbox. This was Carbodies 3 door version produced from 1949 to 1958 with open luggage compartment & toolbox.
Starts and drives well . ngine. gearbox . drivetrain perfect.
Bodywork has been profesionally restored by a main Lti dealership
London based agent. Body Repainted and interior & seats retrimmed. and new headliner. New running boards. All the hard work has been done. needs fitting up. parts are available with the cab . Complete to a high standard. and you will have one of the finest examples of a FX 3.
This cab was recently owned by the London Cab Company. the famous builders of todays iconic cab.
Their founding company" Carbodies" Coventry manufacturing this very cab.
When completed it was destined as a show piece in their London showroom to sit alongside and partner their example of the last Fairway produced .
Sadly because or their financial demise towards the later part of last year. It could no longer remain a priority. And the opportunity now arises to own and complete this rare cab. /
