I've owned this rare Volvo for nearly 20 Years now being only the third keeper from new. I took it off the road a few years ago to repair some rust on the front wing and I've still not got around to doing it yet! I'm losing my storage soon so it's time for somebody with more time to recommission / restore this car to get it back on the road where it belongs

It's a 2 litre (1986cc) with fuel injection with the electronic overdrive gearbox which is really useful so it's no slouch and eats up the miles. As you'd expect it's always been 100% reliable and have toured over to Europe many times without it missing a beat. The mileage is approx. 89,000 miles, pretty low for these Volvos.

1800ESs were only produced over a two year period from late 1971-1973 with just 8077 being built in total. It is an early car in the production run and is a UK right hand drive model (less than 1000 made I think) so is a pretty rare beast all in all. It's no wonder these cars are so much in demand now with prices rocketing up. Hagerty values are Fair £10,900, Good £14,700, Excellent £21,900, Concours £31,100

Registered as a Historic Vehicle so it is zero rated for road tax, MOT exempt and is also ULEZ exempt if you live in London. It only costs me just over £100 to insure on a classic car policy so it doesn't cost a lot to run really

Although it had been standing for a while it jumped into life with the application of a battery and fuel, it is a Volvo after all! Haven't been able to take it on the road but drove up and down the drive with clutch and brakes all working fine. It always drove really well before it was parked up so I shouldn't have been surprised!

Some bodywork will be required to bring it back to pristine condition or just do what is required initially and then treat as a rolling restoration over a longer period of time. It's had a new rear wheel arch already so that's a start anyway. For a perfect restoration it will require some bodywork before a respray so there's plenty to keep you busy as a winter project.

The interior is pretty good but has a few tears on the seats as can be seen in the photos but it's all complete

In short this is a well loved complete car that will make a lovely car again with a bit of attention.
