I am listing this car for my mate Dave. who continues to downsize his private collection.

Please contact him direct with any questions. offers. ideas etc et. Private viewings prior to sale welcome.

This car is being re-listed due to a time waster. whom after agreeing a good deal for this wonderful classic car (with a spare engine chucked into the deal) wanted 'the moon on a stick'. Sorry. cant do that.

Only a great classic car with a spare engine on offer here. If you can buy another one at all. let alone one in this condition for this great price (with a spare engine) carry on sergeant major. For the rest of you. please call Dave to arrange your viewing.

Dave can be contacted on 077 4786 2457 .

Comments and questions to the seller:

Is this one of those adds from years ago ? Or is this car for sale

So annoying and totally useless when they still show as for sale but no date to indicate if its a sane advert or just another waste of time

Hello, is the Armstrong still available?
If so, please give a reply.

from Dave Tribble, dated 29 november 2015
When I was stationed at RAF Wethersfield (USAF 1965-1968) I owned a 1952 Armstrong Siddeley Whitley, pretty much identical to the one in this photo. It unfortunately had many thousands of miles and needed an engine rebuild, which I could not afford at the time. It had a good pre-select gearbox which never failed us, and even with the oil pressure seriously down it served us well until it was sold for parts. It is well within possibility that I could now afford this one, even with shipping to Alaska. The only real problem I ever had was with the exhaust system and a bit of concern with the so-called centrifugal braking system. If we ever get back to the UK I most certainly will be looking for one like this one. Thanks in advance.
