Land Rover Series 1 from 1956 for refurbishment rather than restoration. It is ex AFS being Auxiliary Fire Service. It served at Camberley and Surrey. The reg RGC 548 is original and one of a batch of AFS vehicles. It is red over the original green paint in places so may have done further fire service duties after the AFS was disbanded. I dont know its history but it was last used as a breakdown truck up to 1987 when last taxed and it has not been touched for the last 26 years. It has been dry stored since. It ran and drove perfectly when last driven a few years ago but will now need recomissioning. It has the original engine and running gear that would easily recomission again. The chassis is seemingly perfect and original. It appears not to have had any repairs and indeed does not need any. I can not find any corrosion but assume there is a bit somewhere as otherwise it sounds too good to be true!The bulkhead needs repair as it is rusted but is repairable. The body is really straight and even has the red flashing lights on the bonnet. It comes with a windowed hard top and cat flap as it was supplied with but it is not original to the vehicle. There are holes in the rear panels where alternative lights have been fitted at some point. It has sixty something thousand on the clock and i would assume it is original as it drove really well when i last had it running about five years ago. It is currently in store but will be outside ready for collection by arrangement. It can be delivered anywhere in the Uk by arrangement but would need paying for first along with the transport. I have the current V 5 in my name. Inspection is welcome and encouraged before the end of the auction. Remember you bid to buy it and i expect contact within 24 hours and payment within 7 days.
