For sale is a very original and complete Lotus Elite Series 2. 2. a 1982 Lotus twin cam engined 2. 2 litre model with the superb and unbreakable Getrag 5 speed gearbox. galvanised chassis from new. nbsp;with all the benefits of the series 2 updates.

I have owned this vehicle for 12 years and it has a genuine 81. 27 miles on the clock. I am the 5th owner. It is in very very good condition. but needs some time spent on improving a few things to make it a real stunner. The car will run but the brake system requires a full overhaul and a new cam belt needs fitting. Naturally there is no MOT nor road tax.

The headlining was replaced a few years back and the cloth interior is rather good condition overall - rare for thease cars today.

The car comes with it's handbook and some history. lots of mot certs. etc.  It has been maintained by an independent Lotus specialist for most of the time I have had it. with invoices/bills to evidence.

The engine bay needs a clean - I may do this before it sells. but remember this is a genuine car on a private (non-dealer) sale so I have not done a dealer's valet on the car.

Generally the bodywork is superb for a car of this age. just the odd blemish here and there excpet that the lacquer on the rear part of the car has been lost due to the car being out in the weather for a while before I owned it. I did get a quote for a rear-end respray a few years back and it was not that expensive (C. £750).

The seats are also very good. no sagging. no rips. tears or stains. This is all original.

Once the car has these relatively easy jobs done. you will have a first class classic. with some rarity value. The series 2. 2 was undoubtedly the better sorted car. they only made 133 I understand. This is not one of those awful expensive project Elites you see on ebay. The car is complete. the screen is NOT cracked. the car is a geniune example. But will need trailiering away naturally.
