1978 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird for sale.

I have owned and loved this car since 2009 and due to a change in circumstance I am now putting her up for sale.

The car was totally rebuilt about 10 years ago from a rot free shell upwards.   Put together for street racing. she has a high geared steering rack was installed for go kart like response.   Engine is a 400 c. i. from a 1972 G. T. O. with racing cam. one before all fuel restrictions were put on muscle cars. so she has a lot more BHP.   Wheels are after markets Daisy Mag Alloys. quite sort after.   Has more grunt than other Trans-am of the same age.

Total paint strip down and panel straightening mid-2010.   Re-sprayed in Audi Shell White – the whitest-white you could get at the time.   All rubber trims have been replaced and a Pontiac badge has been sourced and placed in black grill.

B and M Automatic Shifter installed – allowing shifting through the gears of the automatic gear box.   Pontiac emblem steering wheel.   Wax oiled underneath.   Starter electrics have been replaced to pull a stronger current from battery.

Has been garaged most of time I have owned.   Engine pulls like a train and wants to be driven.   After service and not ragging it constantly I average about 14 – 15 MPG.

As you know. these cars are a rolling restoration.   The interior is ok but reflective of its 36 year age.  There is an issue with the electric fan on the radiator.   The thermostat is intermittent at times but still works by using the switch on the dash.   On the passenger wing there is no rust but the paint has a tiny bit of bubbling.   At some point it may need attention but paint is very much intact.

I've been as honest as I could about her condition.   I have made the choice to sell her now. she will only sit in a garage now for the next 3 – 4 years if I don't. but equally I don't want to let her go to just anyone.
