Classic Car Addict is excited to present this 1989 Pontiac Trans AM GTA with 31,305 actual miles for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom. This 1989 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA is a very desirable total package. After all, it is the hottest of Firebirds, and this one came from the factory with a full black package, T-tops, loaded interior, and the larger optional fuel injected V 8. The GTA was the true bird of prey in the Firebird T/A lineup. It received the biggest tires, biggest brakes, an aggressive vented hood, and the best full body kit (including rear wing) to represent all-out performance. A meaner machine like this just seems like it should be presented in black. There were less than 1,700 produced in this color for 1989, and this one shows the right signs of retaining the original application. And when you're talking about survivors, this has the right mix! After all, averaging under 978 miles annually tells you this was no daily driver. The same respected look goes for the way the panels still line up so well. The full package looks so dark, the factory GTA badging and cross lace gold wheels really stand out. The black interior looks amazing on a performance-minder Pontiac like this. It starts with the Ultima bucket seats that include electronic inflatable bolstering for extra comfort in all conditions. This is loaded with the best features, like power windows, power locks, alarm, rear defogger, cruise control, tilt steering column, power steering, and factory air conditioning blows cold. The stock AM/FM radio works, as well as the automatic antenna. Remove the T-Top's and take this beauty out for a cruise, you won't be disappointed! There was one option everyone looks for in the GTA, and it's the Corvette's L 98 (L 98 increased to 235 hp). The VIN tells us this one was ordered with the upgrade direct from the Van Nuys plant. The fuel injected V 8 has been kept in stock condition and remains a strong runner. GM's 700 R 4 four-speed automatic transmission was a good pairing because its stout construction can handle the power and torque produced by the upgraded engine. Plus, it's quick shifting nature and overdrive setup made it versatile for everything from street to highway use. More than just the motor, the GTA was the king of the streets because it received the WS 6 suspension as standard. This is the package that kept the Trans Am on top of enthusiast lists through the 70 s and 80 s, and the GTAs came around when this also included four-wheel power disc brakes. Our GTA is now a ball to drive and puts out about the same torque at the rear wheels as some of the classic Pontiac muscle cars. Power and torque come on right off idle, and the sinister growl has heads swiveling! Are you chomping at the bit to drive it? This one will be sold on a clean title, owner's manual, and factory broadcast sheet. Be sure to check out to see 200+HD photos and full driving video. Call us today .
