Seller's notes: "Paint is about 15 years old with some cracks, scratches, nicks and a bubble. Motor is original, transmission has been replaced but have original. Not sure if rear end is original or not. Interior dome and under dash lights not hooked up. Original A/C components are under hood but compressor has seized. Interior A/C dash vents are removed from car but have them. One area of dash is cracking (about 1" square or less). Rest of dash in good shape Side windows have scratches. Mileage is not accurate as the speedometer reads faster than the speed. Needs speedometer gear changed to match replacement transmission. Prior owner did not know if the mileage was accurate as well. Front and rear drivers floor pans had rust removed and new metal welded. Same with a section of the frame rails. Very small amount of rust but had it done correctly by replacing with new metal."

During the past 9 years since I have owned the car I have had extensive professional work done on the car with the emphasis on mechanicals. The motor is original WS block and was completely rebuilt by professional motor rebuilder in June 2009. Mileage at the time was 75057 and speedometer now reads 78601 or about 3500 miles ago. I opted to have Hooker Ceramic Headers installed along with a Pypes Stainless Exhaust system. I have the original original exhaust manifolds and they will go with the car. I also had the under hood and front lighting wiring harnesses replaced when the engine was rebuilt. Not sure if the original owner or a later one had a dealer install Hurst Dual Gate Shifter added to the car. I do have an original 1970 Pontiac Shifter that will go with the car.
In 2005 I had the complete suspension. front and rear springs. Edelbrock Performer Classic IAS Shock Absorbers. Urethane body mounts and front end parts replaced with correct parts from Classic Industries and other aftermarket parts companies including urethane bushings. There were some areas of rust in the drivers and rear floor plans that were cut out and welded with aftermarket replacement pans. I also had some rust removed from the frame rails. again this was cut out and replaced with new metal. The repair of the metal was done by a professional shop that specializes in the restoration work. The trunk floor pan is solid although there is some surface rust as I did not get around to having it repainted. The fuel tank has been replaced at some point in time with what appears to be a stainless or aluminum tank.
Brakes have also been completely replaced with drilled rotors & Heavy Duty Calipers in the front and heavy duty shoes/drums in the rear. Brake hoses were replace along with some of the lines and also the master cylinder and power brake booster. The original Harrison radiator finally gave out in 2012 and was replaced with a Be Cool Restoration Black Finish Aluminum Radiator. I had the original 7040264 Quadrajet carb sent out for rebuild and restoration in 2008. When I had the motor rebuild in 2009 I removed the Quadrajet and packed it in a box then replaced with a new Holley 4127 Quadrajet replacement with electric choke. The Holley unfortunately is a little taller than the original Rochester Quadrajet so I had to put an aftermarket K&N air cleaner on the car. I have the original Dual Snorkel air cleaner and it goes with the car. This year I replaced the original starter with a Hi Torque Summit model.
Other upgrades to the car to make it more enjoyable include front and rear seat reupholstering and new seat foam from Ames Performance in NH. New carpeting and correct GM seat belts were installed in the car at the same time. The original car did not have a radio. When I had the seats and console out I installed correct Delco AM/FM Stereo Radio and Delco 8-Track Player. Both were rebuilt units. For night driving I replaced the stock halogen bulbs with 7" LED DOT approved bulbs made by Truck-Lite. These are the most awesome auto lighting system I have ever had. They are totally drop in replacements but they are very expensive.
I'm sure I have forgotten to list a bunch of the improvements I have made during the past 9 years. Please read the details I have included in the condition description portion of this listing about the condition of this car. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask including a professional inspection. This car was recently inspected by a State of Rhode Island Official Inspection Station and passed all of the necessary tests to be registered as an everyday vehicle through April 2016. The State of Rhode Island does not Title vehicles over 10 years of age. The Rhode Island Registration is a valid document in lieu of a title. This car was last titled in the State of Illinois and I have that title. however. the Rhode Island Registration is recognized as a title by other states as long as the vehicle is >10 years of age.
In summary. this is a wonderful cruising car. I drive it regularly. it is fun to drive. handles great and gets 12-16 mpg depending on the how much highway vs around town driving. It is done to my style which is a combination of original and improved. Paint looks great at 10' and ok at 3'. If you are looking to make this into a show car then you would need to have it professionally repainted. I did receive a Class Runner Up Award at the 2012 Eastern Pontiac Regionals but that was by public vote not judges.
