Its with a sad heart I have to put my lil datsun up for sale due to work and family commitments.
I picked this up last year as a garage/barn find type of deal. It had spent 10 years plus in a lock up and was from the original owner.
Over the winter I have sorted out the few rust issues it had and respray it in diamond white. The suspenion has been lowered using a coilover conversion on the front along with bilstien inserts and on the rear its got new decambered capri single leaf springs and lowering blocks with shorter shocks.
Wheels are very rare speedstar racing starsharks and are fitted with new tyres.
Interior is black vinyl and clean and tidy. The drivers seat has a small split in the base.
The 1200 engine runs well and has been totally reliable in the 4 months that I have been using it every day. Its been getting 40 mpg on my 30 mile a day comute. Its not a speed machine but does keep up with modern traffic well. Uses a very small amount of oil but I've put this down to valve stem seals as it will sometimes puff a bit of blue smoke on cold starting but clears after 1/4 0 f a mile and never smokes at any other time. I had alway intended to fit a larger engine and there plenty of options to go for from a 14 to sr 20 det.
Engine bay is sprayed satin black and would benefit from stripping down and spraying white (I will supply the paint for this) this was my next job on the list.
Gearbox was replaced 2 weeks ago due to the original being noisey in 2 nd gear. While it was apart I fitted a new 3 pc clutch kit.
Overall its a great car to drive and in my opinion looks cool. The suspension is very low and is quite hard but it can be lifted very easily on the coilovers and I can supply with 1" and 1 1/2" lowering blocks to swap over for the 2" blocks fitted. Its not been a problem on speed bumps.
