regarding all of the messages: body is pretty good. came to me with the very back of the trunk rusted. and some in the spare-tire well. at a friends advice the open space was fiberglassed-over and painted and is quite presentable considering it's not a showcar. some rust on the driver door. other than that i believe the body to be pretty solid. paint has patina. at least 2 colors of blue and could be easily left alone or just cleared (or totally redone. up to you) the car shakes a bit when getting hard on the brakes. so i'm pretty sure it needs control arm bushings replaced. and has some vibration during acceleration that seems to go away around 35-40 mph maybe due to torque rod bushings. or axle/u-bolt bushings maybe u-joint? it needs heat/air (i think a vintage air gen mini would be a great choice. seals on the glass and doors and trunk are only fair to poor (absent at trunk) and could use a panel fabricated below dash to conceal the ecu and harness. valve covers gaskets need replaced. chip in driver side windshield. one rear brake leaking dot3 unknown if from caliper or line. and though it has a working 2-speed wiper switch. i'm not satisfied with its apperance or placement. front clip is stock except for the disc brake stuff which i think was from an 1800 (could have been from the other volvo frequently talked about in forums as suitable for conversion. but i'm fairly certain it was 1800 stuff i finally came up with) rear axle is not volvo. it came from the same donor that the trans came from. an 85 s10 pickup that i converted to disc brakes with a kit. and the driveshaft from the donor was re-tubed to appropriate length at a driveline shop. other than a bracket that was welded to the top of the diff to accommodate mounting the torque-rods the rear suspension is stock. i love this car and don't want to see it go. but after a recent move. i just dont have the space to keep playing with it. so it's off to find a new home. if bidding goes over 5. 00 winning bidder will receive the following extras: new and uninstalled front/rear springs. left/right steering rods. control-arm bushing set. sway-bar bushings.

On Jan-06-14 at 12:08:45 PST. seller added the following information:

regarding the 2. 8L motor. i chose this motor for it's durability and longevity. i had an 87 s10 for more than 15 years with the 2. 8 tbi motor. and it ran and ran and ran. and needed virtually nothing (occasional plugs/wires/cap/rotor. and religious oil & filter changes) and it went over 310. 00 miles before i lost my 5th and reverse gears from the mated 5-speed. people like to talk about b20's being bulletproof. i'd absolutely call the 2. 8 chevy bulletproof. the motor in this car was bought from a man who had it rebuilt for his 87 s10 that was mated to a 700r4 automatic overdrive trans. and shortly thereafter blew-up his transmission causing him to lose interest in his ride. so this particular motor should last a very very long time. the automatic overdrive transmission in the car had a similar but opposite situation to the above. i bought it from a man who owned/operated a speed shop and transmission shop. he rebuilt the transmission and gave the pickup to his son. then the motor developed a knock and the kid lost interest in it.
