I have for sale my 1983 Talbot Samba Convertible with 1360 cc engine. Very rare with less than 20 in the UK with most of those on a SORN as this one is.
I bought the car in February 1993 - 25 years ago. and it has been stored at the back of a dry garage It was a project that I have decided to sell as I have another two cars I want to get on with and not enough room in the garage. I originally replaced engine tappets. renewed brake parts including brake pipes. derusted bodywork and have it a general clean up all round. Unfortunately I then left it 20 years! Kept saying I would finish it one day. Recently I have done some work on the car. GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE CAR - NO RESERVEBrand New - Wipers. Oil Pressure Switch and Radiator Switch New - Folding Hood - Has been fitted but never used. Engine Tappets (Cam followers). Rear Brake Cylinders and Pipes. Handbrake Cables (L & R). Front Disc Pads. Lower Ball Joint and Track ~Rod End Recent re-spray but could do with improving in places Bottom of Doors etc very. very good with minimum surface rust. Unusual for these cars. Starts. runs and drives OK. but only used in and out of the garage and up the driveway Clutch fine. gears shift OK and hand brake releases without sticking
A FEW THINGS THAT NEED SORTINGThe alloys could do with a clean and tyres need replacing There is an after market radio (not working)Electric front window works (slowly)May need some other mechanical work for MOTExhaust is blowing at the front and Brakes will need adjusting Obviously needs an MOT
I have the V 5 in my name The car would make a nice winter project. ready for using in the Spring Please note that the car will need a trailer for collecting I would prefer that prospective buyers view the car before bidding to satisfy yourself of condition. We are retired and in most of the time. Contact me through ebay to arrange date and time. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS CAR AS IT MUST BE SOLD - A BARGAINCASH ON COLLECTION ONLYI reserve the right to end auction as I have the car advertised elsewhere. I will only do this if no bids have been placed.
