1988 BMW M 6 SHARK NOSE

This 1988 BMW M 6 is finished in Cinnabar Red over gray leather. Car was purchased new in California where it resided until 2004. Following its stay in California it spent a couple years in NC and Georgia before moving to Florida in 2008 where it has been since. Paint presents nicely for the year body lines are very straight there is vin tags on all the panels. All the glass on the car has factory stamping. Suspension has been upgraded to KYB shocks with new shock mounts and rear self leveling delete .The car has beautiful Bronze BBS Wheels are in excellent shape and wrapped in Michellin tires. Equipment includes a power sunroof, heated and power-adjustable front sport seats, an aftermarket stereo, and air conditioning with rear climate controls. The 1988 M 6 featured revised bumpers with body-color corner trim as well as ellipsoid headlights. This example is finished in Cinnabar Red (138) and features a power sunroof, a front air dam with integrated fog lights, bright window trim, a rear spoiler.

The seating surfaces are upholstered in grey leather and amenities include power-adjustable and front sport seats, air conditioning with rear climate controls, power windows and door locks, and an aftermarket stereo and radar detector. Wear is noted on the driver's seat bolster however the seats don't have any rips tears or cuts. Dashboard is in excellent condition. There is no evidence of warping and the dash is crack free which is extremely rare in the E 24 Chassis. A leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, an 8 k-rpm tachometer, and a six-digit mechanical odometer showing 151,357 miles. In the trunk area a full size spare is present along with almost all the tools in the drop down tool tray. An aftermarket subwoofer has been installed in the trunk.

The 3.5-liter S 38 inline-six features dual overhead camshafts along with individual throttle bodies and was factory rated at 256 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Braking is provided by four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. New clutch was installed at 97 k miles. The car has had every maintenance item taken care of since new to today. Anything the car ever needed was done with no corners cut.

The documented service history of this car dates back all the way to 1993. In addition to the 3 inch thick folder of services the previous caretaker has a box full of old magazines all featuring the M 6 as well as original books and manuals. Also, there is a newspaper clipping from when the car was purchased in 1998. Major service was performed 6 k miles ago which included distributor, ignition wire set and new mass airflow meter. Additional replaced items include thermostat, short shifter with all new bushings, transmission mount, intake manifold gaskets, and spark plugs.

The car runs and drives great handling is tight and the engine is powerful and smooth
