For sale is a burgundy over tan 1972 Fiat 124 Spider project. I acquired the car about two years ago with plans of restoring it, but I need to cut down on the number of projects I have. The car is currently registered (no back fees, current tags through 09/22) with a clean California title in my name and retains its original blue and gold license plates. Build date of 02/72 with 92,461 miles shown. The car was repainted under prior ownership and the paint is faded, scratched, and chipped. There is a dent on the rear drivers side fender to the left of the tail light and some rust bubbling in the paint on the passenger side rear fender, left of the wheel well. The hood is a replacement that has had some welding work done near the hinges and could use some work to make it perfect. Two trunk lids are included, one with a trunk rack and one without. The passenger side shock tower has had the undercoating scraped off and both front shock towers are free of rust. The front frame rails and engine cross member are free of cracks and rust. The battery box has some surface rust. There is rust present in both sides of the floors and the passenger side seat rail. Several patches were installed and should be replaced. The car has 13x5 Fiat Steel wheels with chrome beauty rings and hub caps. The tires are old and cracked, but hold air and can be used to roll the car onto a trailer or around a shop. The suspension and braking systems need to be rebuilt, but the car rolls freely. The 1608cc DOHC Lampredi 4 cylinder engine and 5-speed transmission have been removed from the car and are included in the sale (starter motor included, but not pictured). I had the engine running briefly on starter fluid before removal and disassembly. The radiator was re-cored. The carburetor is a Weber DHSA that could use a rebuild. The interior in fair condition and is mostly complete aside from the glove box and rubber floor mats. The dash is cracked (carpet cover included) and the rear seat corners have been folded in, likely for a roll bar. There is a small crack on the lower-left part of the steering wheel. The convertible top is in fair condition and has one small rip on the driver's side by the rear quarter window. It needs to be re-glued to the top bows. The car is located in San Francisco, CA and will need to be towed. I would be happy to assist the buyer in loading the car and parts onto a trailer.
