1961 FORD CONSUL 375 MK2 / MK11 SALOON

For sale is one of my classic cars. the 1961 Ford Consul 375. which I have owned for the last 10 years.
When I bought this car she had been off the road from 1981 until 2003 and was still owned by the original purchaser who had sadly passed away. So just two owners from new. which is a rarity in itself  for a car of this age.
There is a huge amount of documented history with this vehicle. including the original sales receipt. which will all be passed on to the new owner.
Taxed and Mot'd until April 2014. though vehicle is tax exempt so qualifies for free road tax.
As you can see the colour is white over grey. the car has a steel sun visor fitted and unusually an original tinted windscreen.
Also fitted is a rear demister. air horns. badge bar. hite wall tyres. stainless steel exhaust. rear fog and reversing lights. blue spot brake lights and period front spot lights.
The chrome bumpers and overiders are straight and in reasonable condition.
She also has unique one off custom made mud flaps.
A new rear screen rubber (the best) purchased from New Zealand has also been fitted.
The leather interior is in pretty good order as you can see. as is the head lining and door cards. New carpet has been fitted to the interior and the boot still has its original rubber mat. Also fitted to the interior is a useful centre console to hold your bits and bobs.
The rear leaf springs were replaced in 2009 so the car sits nice and high just as it should and has been fitted with poly bushes.
A new wing was fitted 18 months ago and the second wing extensively restored. so both are as solid as a rock.
The vehicle has been converted to negative earth to enable an alternator to be fitted and also benefits from a spin on oil filter.
The original radio is still in situ and was working prior to the alternator fitting and a radio / cd player has been fitted on the parcel shelf.
Poly bushes have been fitted throughout and will never perish. unlike the rubbers which were previously fitted.
She has a valuable original registration number ending in MT and still runs on the original engine. with very little mileage done in recent years
Now for the negative bits of which there isn't very much.
The car is inclined to jump out of second gear on over run. which is quite a common fault with these cars.
There is the odd blemish to the paintwork as you would expect with a car of this age (52 years) and the milometer stopped recording in 2007. though the speedometer works fine. Recorded mileage is 76815 and I doubt the car has covered 1500 miles since then.
I would describe the car as very good but obviously not concourse.
