Sebring MX5000 (Austin Healey 3000 replica) for sale
Current customer rating:
This is a replica kit manufactured by Classic Roadsters of Fargo. ND. The car was assembled by a retired man in 1987. He died shortly after and the car was put in dry storage for 20+ years. I bought it from the second owner 3 years ago and have done extensive work to bring it back to life. Note: this history is second hand so I cannot verify it.
The car has a crate Ford 302 engine with a 4 speed transmission. It has a tubular frame with chassis components taken from a 1978 Mustang II. The front suspension has coilovers. The steering is power assisted Rack & pinion. The body is fiberglass gelcoat. The following is a partial list of work done since I purchased the car.
·
Complete rewiring using Painless harness with new fuse block.
·
Radiator removed and cleaned.
·
New (reman) steering rack.
·
New brake master cylinder w/ boost unit
·
New brake pads & shoes
·
Headers ceramic coated.
·
New ignition module and solenoid.
·
New heater core (damaged A/C was removed).
·
Handmaid walnut instrument panel with new switches and additional gauges.
·
New Retro Sound Radio with Aux input.
·
New Flaming River steering column with Grant wheel.
·
Interior has been completely reupholstered.
·
New battery and spare tire.
·
New windshield (I cracked it when removing).
·
New rollbar. (Not cosmetic…. bolted to frame)
The car will need new tires soon. It has a black convertible top that has some minor cosmetic issues but does not leak. The mileage was 2800 when I purchased the car but the odometer has become erratic recently so true mileage is not as shown. I only drive it occasionally so my best guess is around 5000.
Note: This car was re-titled in Florida as a 2010 because the previous Indiana title would not transfer into the Florida computer system.
I strongly encourage an independent inspection and will deduct the cost from the winning bid.
Work progress and “before” pictures are available upon request.
I am advertising this car locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction prior to its end date.
Why am I selling it?. had my fun…. bored……need a new project.
$500 deposit within 48 and full payment in 7 days. Pick up and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

CLARIFICATION ON TITLE: The car is titled as a 2010 ASTP (Florida desination for kits). The previous Indiana title would not transfer into the Florida computer system so the car was inspected and retitled. I thought listing it as a 2010 would be deceiving so I listed as a 1978 because the vin# for a 1987 would not fit the ebay format for cars built after 1981. .
