1967 MGB MK1 Roadster, with 1974 motor, trans and seats. This early steel dash MGB, with service records going back to the early 1990-ies, is in a wonderful condition. The photo gallery shows the condition in detail, and no rust has been noticed other than some light surface rust and some on the drivers side bottom. The body paint shows some chips, mainly on the lower side of the sills. The service records show that John Twist in Michigan was the preferred guy to go to for maintenance and repair. He was the guy who fitted the newer motor etc. A big file comes with the car that shows most of the work done in the last 30 years. Recently we repaired the hydraulic cylinders. Apple Hydraulics re-sleeved both the master and slave, since we have so many problems with new reproduction parts. Brass sleeves were installed and the cylinders were rebuild with new seals etc. An oil and filter change was performed and all fluids checked. Trans oil was very clean! The owner of this car bought it in 2017, but did not put many miles on it. Since the clutch was not cooperating and he stored the car with the other MGB's in his collection. The videos show a good cold start, and I hope that pulling up in fourth gear from low speed gives you an idea how strong this motor is.  The car does not have a heater (We have no clue why, but the firewallwas nicely finished), the mechanical tachometer is not functional ( as a result of the non original motor, that was not equipped with a tach drive), and the trip meter doesn't seem to work. Speedo and odometer do work properly, as do all the electrics and gauges.  A modern radio has been installed and the manual of that electronic miracle is in the dash compartment. The hood stay-up is missing, and has been replaced, as shown on the pictures, by a wooden rod that can be stowed away safely in the engine compartment during driving. The hood itself is made out of aluminum, original, as per MK1 specs. The two 6 Volt batteries  have been replaced with one 12 Volt battery, and a disconnect  switch is installed. The second battery box is used to carry a spare inner tube, Vee belts, a used Lucas Fuel pump and a radiator hose. The seats move back and forth as they should and the seat backs function as intended. 3 Point safety belts are installed. The steering is smooth and without any play.. The car is fairly stiffly sprung, and handles very nicely with the wide 8 spoke aluminum Minator knock off wheels. Tire size is 185/70-14 on all four corners. The spare wheel is a normal spoke wheel. The top fits well. A vinyl black top cover and tonneau are in the boot, together with the tools and spare. A long handle knock off wrench is also in the boot.More photos of this car can be seen at VintageSportsCar.net/saleBuyer is responsible for pick up in Woodstock.
