Vehicle Details
Never restored because it is as original as possible. The 68067 miles are actual miles. The engine is a small block restoration that is honed out to be equal to a 1600. There is no more than 2000 miles on the new engine. The clutch was replaced when the new engine was installed. Engine needs fine tuning (idle adjustment). The transmission is a GT 136768 67-68 VW Type I & III transaxle, swing, 12 volt replaced. Brakes were replaced and adjusted properly.I believe it is in museum condition. It was stored for many years in a garage in Tennessee. I stored it in a barn since the spring of 2014 and occasionally drove it. The two known flaws are a pitted rust spot edge of hood and left rear scrape on over tire. See pictures. Gauges, lights, and radio work fine. A front wheel bearing may need changed.
