1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee (WM23H9G305xxx) Factory 383c.i. HP car, Hurst 4-speed transmission, factory N96 Ramcharger hood car, rare A40 Super Bee “Scat Pak Spring Special Package”, hood pins, performance hood treatment, rallye gauge cluster, trunk stripe, bench seat, thumbwheel A.M. radio, 8 3/4 rear-end with 3.23's, magnum 500 wheels and Super Bee quarter panel side scoops.  All of the Super Bee's body sequential numbers match on the radiator support, trunk lip, fender tag and the VIN tag authenticating it is a REAL factory Super Bee.

I just finished a very long detailed cleanup and mechanical restoration on this absolutely awesome 1969 Super Bee.  I will list everything in detail later but here are some things I did to make the Super Bee road ready.  New brakes, wheel cylinders, rubber flex lines, complete brake lines front to back, master cylinder, brake hardware, new Edelbrock 4-bbl carb, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel sending unit, oil and filter, thermostat, 3 core factory Mopar radiator and hoses, heater hoses, factory style clamps, battery, alternator, starter, front shocks, positive and negative battery cables, full engine tune-up, heater core, rebuilt heater box, painted engine and manifolds, cleaned entire underside of car, buffed, wet sanded and waxed exterior, cleaned all original chrome and factory glass, cleaned fuse box and wiring, replaced bulbs and much more! I will make a list up below.

This is a very cool factory 1969 383 4-speed Super Bee that I did the mechanical work needed to make it a nice road ready driver and put an extreme amount of time into detailing and cleaning it from top to bottom.  Please understand this is not a concourse show car and would need restored/painted if you were to go that route.  It is a real factory Bee that has some very desirable options and has pretty low production numbers with only 7,363 383 4bbl 4-speed hardtops ever built (before any options).  I believe the Bee was repainted in the 80's at some point.  It is driver quality job with several paint chips and flaws.  It is an very nice bodied car that is very original and ready to drive and enjoy the way it is!!!

I typically restore or finish around 8-10 Mopars a year and have been working on them for more than 30 years and I do everyone as they were my own to keep. I put a lot of time, effort, pride and money in the cars that I offer for sale which is evident when viewing one of my cars compared to others for sale.  I do a lot of the small things with great attention to detail that most people overlook or don't know how to fix it correctly.

PAINT, BODY AND FRAME

The Super Bee has a very good body and the sheet metal appears to be really nice!  The R4 Performance Red single stage paint has a very nice shine and is very presentable for a driver type car!  The original paint was R6 scorch red and was changed to the R4.  There are several paint chips that have been touched up in many different areas.  There are also few flaws on top of the deck lid area near the lower rear window corner and both lower sides at the bottom corners near the tires have some blisters showing.  I don't think they are very bad as the original wheel well lips are actually very nice and clean.  I believe the sheet metal is original with the exception to the passenger front fender appears to be replaced years ago with an original one and some work was done on the very lowers of both quarters.  The floor boards, doors, fenders, hood, trunk floor and trunk extensions are all in very nice shape.  You can run your fingers around every inside wheel well lip and they are very nice and not full of fillers!  The inside edges of both doors are absolutely spotless and look great!  The doors open and close with ease and the seams look nice.  The original trunk floor looks very good and appears to only have minor work done just in the center area and you can still see the correct factory spot-welds and seam sealer.  The frame is in excellent shape and is very clean on the front and rear rails.  The undercarriage is also very clean and neat with no apparent rust.  The paint overall still looks good and would make a nice driver the way it sets!!!  I did do a complete buff job and very light wet sand on the entire car.  I will leave it up to the new owners if you decide to leave it as a nice cruiser and enjoy or decide to restore it into a concourse show car!  I am also very picky and critical, as well as honest so please do not hesitate to call me as I will crucify my own car and do a complete walk around with you on the phone!  Please call Chad at  412- 496- 1439 with any questions.

 GLASS, CHROME AND TRIM

The glass appears to be the original date coded glass and in very good condition for factory glass!  The front windshield has been replaced and is very nice.  The rest of the glass is real nice for original glass and only has some very minor marks on them.  The rear glass has some scratches in the center area and just a few minor marks on the side glass.  The front and rear bumpers, door handles, emblems, driver's side mirror are in decent original shape but would need redone for a show car.  The trim pieces are super clean and were polished for optimum shine. The front grill appears to be in nice original condition.

 INTERIOR

The interior is also very presentable for a driver and looks good overall.  The original dash pad has been recovered.  The front and rear seats have newer covers installed and look very nice.  The original headliner is in excellent shape (only missing the shoulder belts).  The original factory steering wheel and horn ring are very nice but it does have the common splits/cracks in the wheel.  The dash cluster is in nice operating condition and all factory gauges work and operate correctly.  All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, interior lighting, reverse lights, tail lights, parking lights, turn signals, four-way flashers and license plate light.  The fan motor, wipers, horn, and E-brake all work.  The factory AM radio is not working.  The heater box and all under dash items are in excellent shape and the factory wiring on this car is also very nice!  The heater core is brand new and heater box was restored.  I also clean and check many wire connections, fuse box, bulkhead, light bulbs, sockets, switches and much more to ensure they are working properly!

 DRIVE TRAIN

The strong running 383 makes excellent power and runs great!  This engine runs extremely smooth, sounds awesome and very easy to drive in any given traffic condition.  I don't have receipts on the motor but I believe it was rebuilt years ago by the previous owner.  The 383 is not the original engine and is a 1971 383 motor and has a casting date of 7-9-70 (steel crank motor).  Casting number is 2468130-1.  Top I.D. badge is G383.  I'd say it is very close to factory stock and has a very mild hydraulic cam.  It also has a factory cast iron intake # 2806301 and is topped off with a brand new 600cfm Edelbrock electric choke carb.  The exhaust manifolds are factory HP ones and the casting numbers are 2843992 LH and 2843992 RH.  The 383 sounds excellent and has a very nice exhaust, mufflers and factory chrome tips!  The rear end is an 8 ¾ with 3.23 gears and open differential.

The Hurst 4-speed transmission shifts excellent through the gears and is an absolute blast to drive!  It is a 1968 unit and the numbers are PP833  2471  0021 (makes it a 5-3-68).  The flat ID badge and sequential number is 8A296011.  It feels excellent through the gears and downshifts just as good.  All the fluids have been checked.  This drive train combo runs and drives awesome in all conditions whether highway or city driving.

SUSPENSION

The front suspension has been all checked over.  It was cleaned and drives and handles great!  The front and rear brakes are brand new.  Also installed new are the front and rear wheel cylinders, brake flex lines, rear flex line, complete front to rear brake line kit and newer master cylinder.  The brakes feel very good for drum brakes and it stops excellent!  The 14" Magnum wheels and 245-60-14 Firestone tires are good driver quality.
