Welcome to our auction for this 1968 Rover P 5 b V 8 Coupe. Superb very original car finished in Rover White with Burnt Grey roof, Black Leather interior with Beige carpets. Showing only 2 former keepers the last from 1987 until his sad passing last year. It was his pride and joy and was entered in several club and classic car shows winning many awards some of which are pictured with the car. The car has sadly sat in his garage since 2018/19 without being used. We put fresh fuel in, and a battery and she started pretty much right away. The car was Mo T'd every year till 2018 and only failed once in 2015 for a stop lamp, we have 90% of the old Mo T's from 1982 to 2018 along with tax discs going back to 1988. The leather interior is in remarkably good condition and with a light re dye and some hide food should come up even better, there are no splits in the leather and I for one wouldn't replace it, they're only original once as they say. Definitely needs a full carpet set, around £350 from Coverdale Carpets. Paint in places is showing some wear, please see photos but overall, not bad, bottoms of the doors are good with just a few little marks on. Chrome is weak on the car, all there and solid but would need to be re-done. Mechanically she sounds good apart from a definite exhaust blow from one of the silencers, I would also suggest a full tune up (it has electronic ignition fitted), and replacement of all the water and fuel hoses. Brakes work fine, Gearbox was overhauled in 2004 but only 7,000 miles ago and shifts well. There is an unusual hole in the middle of the headlining, maybe an amorous night out that carried out in the back seat? Overall, a really nice survivor that just needs a little work to bring up a level or two.

Original Rover owner's manual, maintenance manual, radio and 8 track instructions, several 8 tracks included with the car.

I have way too many projects on the go but if the car doesn't realise it's reserve, which I think we have set at a reasonable amount I'll put her away until I can get to it. Really not too many P 5 b's with this provenance and history.
