1965 AUSTIN WFK 100 5 TON TIPPER TRUCK 5.1 DIESELTHIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE TRUCK WE COULD NOT FIND ANOTHER FOR SALE ANYWHERE,THE TRUCK DOES NEED SOME TLC AS IT IS 56 YEARS OLD, THE TRUCK STARTS AND DRIVES AND THE TIPPER WORKS AS IT SHOULD, IDEAL TO TAKE TO SHOWS OR BE USED AS AN ADVERTISING VEHICLE,THE TRUCK HAS BEEN OWNED SINCE NEW BY J BARRETT HAULAGE FIRM,Dating from April 1965 this old workhorse Austin 5-Ton Tipper comes in the WFK 100 form with six-cylinder BMC diesel engine which we believe to be the 311.5 cu in (5.1 litre) 51 J version featuring a robust 7-bearing crankshaft driving the rear wheels via 4-speed manual transmission. It has sufficient power to lug considerable loads in the 5 cubic yard capacity tipper back. the owner tells of the truck hauling 6 tons of material up many Welsh mountain roads without breaking a sweat.The truck was restored by the long term owner/operator through the 90's after 35 years faithful service to him through his business. Since this time, the truck has seen only limited use attending some local shows only, spending most of its time garaged at the vendor's Newport home. Showing some signs of its age and older restoration, there is scope to improve - the interior trim is particularly tired and worn under the seat covers as with some localised areas of paint,we have a box containing workshop manuals, parts lists and trio of vehicle inspection plating certificates along with 5 old MOTs the last in 2017, 3 hand-books and period sales brochure.The tipper back works as it should in the back is a spare gearbox, clutch and diesel filter with the truck being treated to new tyres at MOT in 2016.
