Car details - Owner's description

This listing is for a 1984 Citroen 2CV based Lomax 223. The Lomax 223 is a 3 wheel car that utilises a modified 2CV chassis and engine beneath a moulded GRP body. giving a fun and economical open 2 seater with soul. recalling cars like the old Morgans. The glassfibre body is durable and parts are easy enough to obtain through an enthusiastic network of 2CV owners. This is not a recent conversion and retains the donor Citroen's original 1984 'A' plate. The V5C as a Lomax is present and the car is currently registered on SORN. Current owner for past 15 years but car has had little use during this time. Car is currently being prepared for an MOT and the asking price represents it at that stage. hopefully by the end of this ebay listing. This is to include tyres. battery and replacement screens. aswell as a few rubbers. clips and general service items along with a good polish. Interested parties are welcome to view the car at any point prior to it being put back on the road and make an offer based on condition at the given time. Please note that this is not a renovation car but is fundamentally sound requiring only minor outlay prior to MOT. The car may be viewed in the M35 (Oldham. Manchester) area with the owner. Enquiries and viewing arrangements through ebay or phone if preferred.

Originally registered 1984. believed could have been a Dyane. Current V5C latest red logbook present on which it is registered as a Lomax. Chassis of the Lomax is an original cut down A series Citroen chassis. still in good condition. Citroen air cooled 602cc engine. All fan ducting etc on the engine has been removed and it has been fitted with a lightened flywheel. Car has been on SORN for over ten years. The recorded mileage shown on the dash is approx 50k miles but this cannot be verified. Since 1998 the car has probably covered less than 5000 miles in total and has been tarped up or garaged for the last ten years. although it has been moved around the garden under its own steam on many occasions during that period and the engine runs fine.

This car is quite nippy. easy to drive and the aeroscreens do keep the wind off to a certain degree! Current ones have started to craze but 2 replacements await fitting and accompany the car. Seats are upholstered in hospital grade waterproof fabric. as is the tonneau cover. all of which is in decent serviceable condition.

Having a low centre of gravity and anti roll bars it can be a fun little car to drive and having only 3 wheels it is in a low road tax group. Insurance through the specialists can be quite cheap and some may give discounts for 2CVGB members (2CV Club of Great Britain).

Pictures taken 20th March 2013. The car is currently being prepared for its MOT. This will include 3 replacement tyres as the current ones are somewhat perished. As it does not have a battery or MOT at the time of listing. it would require a small flatbed trailer with 3 ramps to collect and remove in its current state.

Finally. thanks for your interest in the Lomax. If you have any questions or would like to view please contact initially through ebay.
