Austin K 8 breakdown truck…original Austin dealership breakdown truck

First registered on 16/1/1951, I have the latest V 5 c in my name ,I have the earlier V 5 and also the original buff log book, its still on its original number plate LYE 600, I also have some old mot certs going back till the early 90's, tax disc from the mid 90's bill of sale from the person I brought it from also the bill of sale from John mould who owned the vehicle from 1984 he brought the truck from burnside motors (3 rd owner in the buff log book) so full history from new!! Also I have original sales brochure for a K 8 three way van and also chassis parts list and running and maintenance original books.

All I have done to the truck is, removed the cylinderhead, reground the valves, fitted a new old stock carburettor, rebuilt the shockabsorbers, had the chroming done and also redone the interior (all need refitting) also collected a load of parts, eg original rebuilt trafficators, original spot lamp for the rear plus a load of other parts.

All the winch on the rear is complete and working with extras like wheel clamps towing bars etc..

As you can see the truck is in wonderful original preserved condition, still in its Emerson park motors original Austin dealership livery, I don't think there's another in this original un molested condition, this is one of only 2 known to the owners club... the truck has been very well looked after, and great condition.. offers around £20,000

Comments and questions to the seller:

from Kenneth William Royd, dated 23 march 2025
your history of this truck is slightly wrong, I bought this truck from Burnside motors Dagenham in 1995, it was hand painted pillar box red over the original Emerson park motors livery, burnside motors never primed it and the paint was lifting off, i power washed off the red paint and burnside motors name to revel the paint as you see it now. i sold it at Sotheby's auction at Hendon royal air force museum on the 31st October 1996 for £1500, Julian Schoolnieifer of V and V bought it at the auction, I still have the original Sotheby's sales catalog and the bill of sale in my name. I could be persuaded to part with it as it is part of the trucks history
