1954 Porsche 356 Pre ‘A' Coupe

 

Supplied into Munich 9th October 1954 and bought out of Laguna Hills California

Originally Fish Silver with Dark blue interior with corduroy centres

Other options were: - Reclining seats. aerial. fog lights. windscreen washers and fanfare horns.

 

The body is excellent and not the usual basket case. there are some repairs that can be clearly seen as the car has no paint on it.

There is a split in the battery box floor. both front wings have been repaired along with the roof in the past. these are not the prettiest but  appear solid.

There is a shallow dent in the rear of the tunnel inside the car. this looks more like a result of bad storage.

As you can see. we have removed the paint and any product from the body. revealing all of its past scars. it leaves nothing to the imagination. and you can see exactly how good this car is! It also revealed the fact that the body retains all of its original body panels. which make this an even rarer numbers matching shell!

 

All the hard to find parts are with the car apart from bonnet handle. road wheels and wind-screen. these parts are available easily through specialist companies.

The original engine has been replaced at some time with a 1956 unit. of which there is only the case…These cars were often upgraded with later engines in period…The gearbox also looks like a 1956 unit and could be from a Vw as I don't recognise the front mount.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to buy and restore a Pre A 356. these cars are getting harder to find in un-messed with condition with most of their original parts. and this has to be one of the most solid and original examples we have ever come across.
