A rare opportunity to buy one of the fastest appreciating Classic British Sports Cars following the run away success of Aston Martin values.
Austin Healey 100 BN 1. Chassis number BN 1- L/ LHD manufactured on 16 th June 1955 and delivered to California where the car remained until 2012. Previous owner had the car for more than 30 years during which time the car was dismantled and many major items including the engine. gearbox and suspension were reconditioned. The body panels were removed and painted in a grey metallic colour which looks stunning! The car was never fully assembled until I purchased it completing the work including fitting a new wiring loom and many more parts. The interior has been finished in grey leather with grey carpets throughout trimmed with a grey binding. Tyres and brakes are new and there is a comprehensive toolkit in leather bound box. wheel mallet and jack finished in the body colour. The car performs superbly the engine is extremely willing and the acceleration seems far brisker than many Healey's . this may be due to some internal engine improvements but I cannot verify this externally.
The controls are light and precise. the gearbox is a delight to use and the overdrive snaps in and out instantly as it should. The car has been thermally insulated to prevent excessive engine heat entering the driver and passenger areas. The car is ready for serious rallying (including the Mille Miglia!) the seats are full leather MX 5 with three point seat belts and full forward . aft and tilt adjustment. Original Healey seats can be readily fitted however the MX 5 seat looks period and offers significant comfort and safety advantages over the basic Healey seat.
The hood and frame come with the car but have not yet been fitted as the hood will require replacement and the colour choice is down to individual but grey Mohair would look fabulous on this car.
