VW Volkswagen GT Beetle 1973 1600 Lemon Yellow

For Sale RARE GT Beetle Lemon Yellow 1600.  

TAX EXEMPT FROM APRIL THIS YEAR. MOT UNTIL DEC 2014.

Original spec was a European 1300 S based model with 1584cc engine. 3. 875:1 differential. 4. 5J Lemmertz GT wheels. Lemon Yellow (15M) paint. black wing beading. front disc brakes. cloth upholstery and interior panels in beige. padded dashboard. 1303 style rear wings and tail-lights. A Kamei tunnel tray was also fitted.

With the 1584cc engine and revised differential the top speed is 85mph with 70mph available in 3rd gear and 45 in second. As the GT is around 100lbs lighter it was faster in a straight line than the 1302 S Super Beetle.

2. 00 were produced to celebrate 300. 00 UK imported units. Of these 2. 00 cars 50% were Lemon Yellow. 40% Tomato Red and 10% Apple Green. The only Beetle to be officially badged a 'Beetle'.

Her restoration has been extensive yet sympathetic – with the work carried out entirely by VooDoo VW of Newbury – she had been rested up in a garage for the best part of a decade before being resurrected and ready for sale today.

With over 300 hours spent restoring her to a roadworthy condition. this would cost £12. 00 plus VAT on labour alone if you were looking to have the restoration work done yourselves.
