This 1984 BMW 524td is a European-market model that was reportedly purchased new by an American service member who was stationed in Germany and later imported to the US. It is finished in Polaris Metallic over grey cloth and is powered by a 2.4-liter turbodiesel inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 14” steel wheels, power mirrors, and manual windows. This E28 was acquired by the seller in 2019 and is now offered at no reserve with service records, factory manuals in English and German, supplemental literature, a removed Alpine stereo, spare keys, a clean Carfax report.

The body is finished in Polaris Metallic (060) and equipped with European-market slim bumpers, while US-spec side markers have been added. Additional features include black side mirror caps, chrome window trim, and a European-spec front license plate. The power antenna is inoperable and the seller notes a dent on the hood as well as an area of rust on the rear bumper. Rust free car!

14” steel wheels show corrosion and wear BMW hubcaps along with 195/70 Vee Rubber City Star V2 tires. A spare is housed in the trunk alongside factory tools. Stopping power is provided by front disc brakes and rear drums.

The cabin features grey cloth upholstery on the seating surfaces along with black door panels and carpeting. Amenities include power-adjustable mirrors, rubber floor mats, and crank windows. Volvo door speakers are mounted in the rear doors, and the seller notes the presence of cracks in the dash. No stereo is currently installed, though a removed Alpine stereo is included in the sale.

The 2.4-liter turbodiesel inline-six sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Service in July 2019 is said to include replacement of the hoses, a coolant flush, and an oil change.

Service records are said to date to 2006 and include replacement of the timing belt along with an overhaul of the fuel system and brakes. Handwritten maintenance logs from the original owner also accompany the vehicle along with German and English factory manuals, spare parts, and a service manual.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists history in Washington from its first entry in January 2000 through its most recent update in August 2019.
