Thanks for taking the time to view this advert for my 1987 e 28 BMW 520 i auto in Alpine White with an Anthracite houndstooth interior.1 previous owner, I've owned the car since 2014 but fancy a change / my hand has been forced by the incoming clean air zone in Bristol. It's recently passed 100,000 miles and will increase slightly but I don't do any great mileage. MOT until March 2022.I had another e 28 at the time I purchased this 520, buying this one purely because of its condition and interesting spec which includes ABS, A/C, cruise control and self-levelling rear suspension. I believe the M 5 came with the SLS system as standard but I've never seen it on another e 28, especially a lesser model like this basic, white 520 i. Please note that the V 5 shows the car has been used abroad but it is a UK spec. I wrote a letter to the original owner trying to find out some more information but didn't get a response. The car is garaged and I only do around 1000 miles per year, mostly in the summer. I do most of the basic servicing myself, changing the oil every 3,000 miles or annually, whichever comes first. Anything I can't manage and the car goes to someone else - it's been looked after by some well regarded BMW specialists and trusted local garages. I have plenty of paperwork and receipts for my time with the car and some of the work carried out during my ownership includes New radiator 2 replacements of the timing belt New water pump Transmission fluid flush and replacement New BMW distributor cap and rotor arm New battery 2 A/C re-gasses 2 flushes and replacement of the brake fluid (new bleed screws with most recent flush)Replacement of all 4 shock absorbers (Bilstein B 4), springs and ALL associated mounting hardware 2 coolant flush and changes (also replaced with radiator change)5 new tyres and wheel alignment around 1500 miles ago Repairs to the bodywork including the removal and replacement of the entire rear panel, repair of the rear arches and removal & re-fitment of the rear windscreen New chrome trim around both windscreens New boot seal Valve clearances adjusted New electric aerial Overall it's in fair condition for its age but as with any old car there are a couple of bits which require attention The cruise control doesn't work, I haven't done any digging as to why Some material on the drivers' seat bolster has worn through Front wings look to have been painted in the past and there is a very small amount of rust starting to come through on the arches The passenger side door lock has been damaged at some point so isn't useable Some of the SLS parts are missing - the shocks, springs and pressure accumulators are gone but the valve block, pipework and pump (which works) are still there A couple of small chips in the windscreen I think that's all of the important stuff but if you've got any questions or you want to view (if you're serious about buying) then please ask. I have some more pictures and a walk-around video of the car.All of the normal stuff applies - V 5 in my name etc etc. No warranty given or implied.Looking for £5,250 cash on collection or bank transfer. Sensible offers will be considered. Not looking to part exchange for anything. Listed elsewhere so may be removed at any time.Cheers!Tom
