1971 Dodge Challenger

1971 Dodge Challenger convertible for sale, needs full restoration.

One of 1857 convertibles for 1971, made even more unusual with original trim tag paint code of GY3 Curious Yellow. Vin on title matches Vin on dash which matches fender tag. Drivers door was changed so Vin decal is different, but reproduction door Vin decals are available.

I have owned this car since the late 1980s, and I finished restoring it in the early 1990s. I drove this car for many years. I was planning to restore it again, so I took everything apart, but it has been sitting now for a while and I'm not sure when I will have time to finish it.

The car was originally a 1971 Challenger, 318 engine, 904 trans, GY3 Curious Yellow.

I changed the color in the late eighties to Lime light green, I also made the car into a four speed. I added the clutch pedal and the bracket on the frame rail for the Z bar pivot. I can include a good running 318/904 (not shown) in the sale at no extra charge if wanted by the buyer.

The car has the original 8.75 inch rear. I installed factory disc brakes on the front and HD drums on the back. I added the factory front and rear sway bars. The factory proportioning valve was installed when the brakes were upgraded.

Car needs the new AMD floor pan installed which is currently just screwed in place. New AMD quarter panels are included, but need to be installed. New AMD two piece firewall cowl is included but needs to be installed. New outer AMD rocker panels are included and need to be installed. New AMD door jam hinge panels are included and need to be installed.

Original fenders are included and are in good shape. Two doors with rare convertible glass are included and are in good shape. Original rare quarter window convertible glass is included. Original Dodge R/T hood (not shown) is included and is in good shape.

Frame rails are in good condition and do not need to be repaired or replaced. Car has HD Mopar front torsion bars, and HD Mopar rear springs which I added.

Car will come on roller wheels and tires, but not the ones pictured. Original A/C dash is included with Vin attached (not shown). Dash frame and pad is complete and in good shape, and includes Rally gauges which I added many years ago, glove box, vents, etc.

Car has a clear Florida title in my name, and is located at a storage facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I can assist your shipper in preparing car for shipment. Car will not be released until full payment is received.
