For sale is my 1989 ford escort xr 3 i mk 4, this vehicle has recently recieved complete body refurbishment and respray after the dreaded bonnet catch failure. The car as you can see is in immaculate condition and dosent want for anything (please message me for more photos/videos) although I would recommend viewing to really appreciate the outstanding condition of this vehicle.
Recent work includes
Replacement of bonnet (genuine ford)
Scuttle panel
Windscreen
Bonnet catches and hinges (genuine ford)
Complete body refurbishment and full respray
At a cost of £6200 i have paperwork and photos.
Service wise
Cambelt and pulley replaced
Oil and filter
Fuel filter
Air filter
Spark plugs
Starter motor
Coolant temp sensor
The vehicle as you can see is not 100% standard as the exhaust at some point has been upgraded and the wheels have been changed. The wheels fitted are genuine ford 7 spoke rs wheels and I have seen these sell for around £2000 alone. The ones on the car are in great condition but if I was to keep the car I would probably have them refurbished.
The electric hood works without fault and locks in as it should, it also comes with a cover to go over the hood and a fly screen. The hood itself is what I can only describe as nearly new condition and I believe at some point recently it has been replaced but I have no paperwork to back that up.
The only two bad points on this car are the rear speaker panels have started to crack due to age and heat,and the rear passenger window outer weather seals have started to perish ( these will be avaliable to purchase in two months from east Kent trim)
The vehicle history is outstanding with original ford service history lots of stamps but not completely up to date nearly all mot certificates. Original handbooks and sales brouchers there is soo much there to look through.
As I said earlier I would advise viewing the vehicle and I can assure that you will not be disappointed. These cars are becoming very rare and especially in this condition (around 120 Road registered) and they will not be going down in value.
