1973 morris marina 1,8 tc coupe british classic car for sale
Current customer rating: (945 votes ) based onHi up for sale is my 1973 mk1 morris marina tc coupe in lagoon metallic.
I purchased the car in april 2009 and I undertook a full restoration on the car with all the work carried out by myself except for applying the lagoon basecoat followed by the clearcoat (this was done by a friend who is a professional painter). Almost everything that could be found new was replaced or refurbished to look new it is fitted with 5 new Michelin tyres the engine is mildly uprated rebored to around 1840cc and fitted with a piper hr270 camshaft and goes very well.
Any shows that the car has attended has attracted unbelievable interest and many fantastic comments.
The pictures do not do it true justice as it really needs to be viewed to be believed
According to the latest budget it is now excempt from road tax
only advertising for sale as I have lost interest in the classic car scene only doing just under 400 miles in it since 2011 and I have always wanted a e39 bmw m5 or an 840ci plus I am more into our motorhome at the moment
the only negatives on this car are the second gear syncro is crunching going down the gearbox (factory standard ! but comes with a replacement gearbox which I bought in good faith but I have not had time to spruce up and fit as yet) and there is a tiny scratch about 4mm on the o/s 1/4 panel(you would only see it if I showed you it)
please only genuine buyers to apply ie no swaps for Austin allegro's fitted with montego turbo engines . reg Vectra v6's. nbsp;black Bedford cf's with a red flash down the side (you get the picture)
lastly because I will get them. 8k for a marina youre p!"£$ed " look elsewhere if anyone wants one of these rare cars which never were or will be the best car ever made in as close to new condition you can get then please get in touch
the car is based in darlington county durham and lives in its heated garage
the car will be sold with a full mot
all sensible questions answered not in any hurry to sell whatsoever as this car will only go up in value
thanks for the interest

this car is beautiful it just needs bigger wheels and an air scoop on the bonnet
from Paul Gillett, dated 25 april 2021
My father had one of these and I remember many a white knuckle ride with the performance it offered at the time. Quite frightening road holding, with a great tendency to under-steer, due to the cast iron 1.8 engine, beefed up with twin SU HS4 carburetors. Made a lovely sound when the throttle was blipped...just like an MGB Roadster. As you've already pointed out with the Morris Minor suspension setup of leaf springs at the rear, with trunions and king pins at the front...100mph was extremely fast! Whoever buys this 1970's classic, this car is worth every penny and I would think it would be nigh on impossible virtually to find another.

from John Wood MBKS, dated 22 january 2016
Sorry, I posted the previous missive having seen an ad where the price was not listed.
from John Wood MBKS, dated 22 january 2016
I'd be interested to know (roughly) the price of future ownership. I ran the same model from 1975 to 1977 and have many happy memories.
Any car with Morris Minor underpinnings with a 1.8 B series engine (same as an MGB) with twin SU HS4s' was always guaranteed to have 'interesting' road manners.
I loved it despite its 'quirks'. The exhaust note is pure MGB! Your spare gearbox will probably have 'mowog' or 'stanpart' in the casting.
I would like to view it!
Best regards, John W
