this is a beautiful vintage 1972 volvo 1800.  the story is pretty good. in 1972 i was in a band in minneapolis while i was in high school. we were in my drummers garage one day as his mom drove in in this new little volvo beaming form ear to ear. she was on the small side of small and the car for her was proportionally perfect. she got out and put her hands on her hips and said "well tim how do you it?" i told her " you take good care of our car!" she looked a little puzzled and said "what do you mean our car?"  i said. you drive it and enjoy it for as long as you want and when you are ready i will buy it form you. so take good care of it for me" she laughed and agreed and we both got on with our lives. her son and i still got together every now and again and he would comment that his mom rtemembered the car agreement and i would confirm that i expected her to. after about 25 years i got a call wanting to be sure i was still interested  (her husband had died) i assured her i was ready whan and if she was ready. no hurry. another 5 or 6 years later she called and said she was ready. she asked how we should decide on the price and i told her to tell me and that worked for her. you dont dicker with someone on a deal like this. it got driven as the fun car every now and agian when her husband was alive and not at all after he died i dont believe. when i bought it it had 89000 miles on it and i take it out every now and again but have to move it every first thursday form its protected spot in my garage for the monthly card game. its a good thing to crank it up and drive it out to the outside orea where it can run long enough to have the choke un choke itself and the wheels to get round on the other side. i have kids and they have scootched between the car and the garage wall and put a couple of small scratches in the otherwise pristine original paint. the color is that cool medium blue that is almost a metalflake its a nice sky blue waters kind of feel. the interior is that 1972 dark walnut finish black dashboard. the seats are black leather. it appears volvo used leather on the seat part and pvc on the sides of the seat. i am not an expert but there is a small tear in the drivers seat (you have to get down there to get into this car) it is low slung. there is a post 1972 radio with a cassette tape deck that is the only non original element of the vehicle to my knowledge. the fuel injection gas line was replaced about 3 or 4 years ago and the service guys who put it on the dolly to transport it there bumped the exhaust system. it is the one and only issue i can mention to you. my drummer got in it last montha nd said that is the way it always sounded in his recollection and there is no problem with leakage or reduced exhaust but i am mentioning it to be ahead of the curve.  contact me with any questions
